Terms and Conditions

 

Running Late

Please note, tables will only be held for 15 minutes after the reservation time. If you do not arrive and make yourself known to the host within this 15-minute period, your table may be given to another waiting guest. If you are running late, please let us know so that we do not give your table away.

 

Deposit policy for parties 7+ guests

A Credit Card is required to guarantee the reservation for parties 7 and over. No charges will be debited (unless specified) except in the event of non-arrival or late cancellation. In either event, the full amount of the deposit will be charged to your Credit Card, Debit Card, or other means given at the time via Stripe.

A minimum of £10 per person is charged or the “minimum spend” for private hires. In the event of a table dropping in size, without prior notification to The Ufford Crown, can be charged for a minimum of £60 as two or more tables may have been reserved for you;
For
example, a booking of 7 (2 tables in use) dropping to a 6 (1 table in use) could incur the minimum £60 charge, without prior notice to the restaurant. Multiples thereof after.
Please let us know in advance of your booking.

The Ufford Crown, entities of, partners, or sister premises, do not hold your card details at the time of confirming your booking. Stripe is used to process this.

What is Stripe?

Stripe is an online payment processing service and financial infrastructure that provides businesses with the tools and APIs needed to accept payments online and in-person, manage financial operations, and integrate financial services into their products. It allows businesses of all sizes to process various payment methods, such as credit cards and digital wallets, and offers solutions for e-commerce, subscriptions, and global transactions.

Stripe is a highly secure payment platform trusted by businesses worldwide. With PCI DSS Level 1 compliance, state-of-the-art encryption, and tokenization, Stripe ensures sensitive payment data is well-protected

 

“No Shows”

We understand that bookings can be forgotten, but please do let us know to cancel a booking if you cannot make it.

Bookings made that a customer does not show up to will be marked as a “no show”, this is recorded on your details given.

  1. 1st “no show” is marked
  2. 2nd “no show” is marked, card details are now required to make the 3rd booking.
  3. 3rd booking will now require card details to be given. A “no show” from this 3rd booking will be charged at £10 a head to the card details given. The account will be blocked from further bookings.

 

Prepayment Policy

For guests wishing to pay in full in advance of their booking, a credit or debit card is required to charge full pre-payment. In the event of cancellation, the booking can be transferred to an alternative date free of charge.  In order to offer a full refund of payment, 7 days notice is be required.  For a 50% refund of payment 48 hours notice is to be required. For cancellation within 48 hours the deposit is non-refundable.

 

Al Fresco Dining

For bookings made outside in the summer months, whilst we will do our best to accommodate your booking, if the weather does not permit dining outside, we will not be able to guarantee a table inside.

 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policy of bookings over 7, and under 14 guests, with deposits paid, or credit held, is 48 hours prior to the booking time and date of arrival. Deposits are non-refundable.

We ask that guests less than 7 guests to cancel within a reasonable timeframe where possible to allow for other guests to book.

Bookings cancelled with guests of 14+, with a deposit paid or credit details held, is 1 week minimum. Cancellation within this time can incur charges of a minimum £10 a head. Private bookings would be charged at 50% of their minimum spend as discussed whilst booking.

 

Dog Policy

We are very dog friendly and look forward to welcoming you and your well behaved furry friends.

  • We have designated dog-friendly areas, the bar, the garden, the terrace.
  • We ask that all dogs are to be on-lead or other form of control.
  • If you need anything for your dog, please ask a member of our team. Water, treats, etc.
  • Dog owners accept full responsibility and liability for any damage to property or persons injured by their dog.
  • We respectfully ask that you clear up after your dog and dispose of waste in an appropriate manner.

 

No Smoking

Smoking is only permitted outdoors in the Front terrace and The Garden. Please ask for an ash tray if one is not present.

The Marquee is a non-smoking area.

The management reserves the right to ask the guest to vacate the area/property if the guest is found to be smoking in any unauthorised location prior to a warning or notice.

What is considered a smoke-free zone?

In Ufford and throughout England, a “smoke-free zone” includes almost all enclosed public places and workplaces, as required by the Health Act 2006. This also extends to specific outdoor spaces, though not in all pub or restaurant gardens.

Vapes and e-cigarettes must follow the same rules.

 

Damage to the premises

We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage caused by the deliberate, negligent, or reckless acts of guests to the pubs property or structure. If such damage is discovered during their visit, it will be drawn to the guest’s attention; if discovered after guests have departed, we reserve the right to contact the guests.

 

Pre-orders

Pre-orders are beneficial to ensure there are no delays in service that may affect you or your guests. These pre-orders are needed 7 days in advance of the booking at a minimum, 14 days are preferred to reduce the chance of items or choices not being available due to supply or any other factors, to also guarantee that we can accommodate all guests’ menu choices and dietary requirements. Please inform us of any allergens at the point of pre-ordering and also on arrival to remind servicing staff to ensure an enjoyable visit.

Please note that we add a discretionary service charge to all reservations over 14 persons of 10% at The Ufford Crown. Authorisation of card details confirms you have read and accepted the terms and conditions of booking. Management reserves the right to change the terms and conditions.

 

Group bookings

With group bookings we require card details, held by stripe. This card is only ever charged in the event of a “no show”, late cancellation, or late notice of cancelling dining pre-orders.

Late cancellation of diners
We must be notified 72 hours prior to your booking to cancel individual diners and their pre-orders. Cancellations under 72 hours and before 24 hours of the booking would be subject to £20 a head charge. Under 24 hours notice to the booking, or no notice at all, will be charged full price of the pre-order held.

Minimum spend
Parties of 18 and under are required to meet a minimum spend for exclusive use of our semi-private dining area (The Lounge), dependant on day of booking. Please see the following;

  • Wednesday to Saturday lunch service – £400
  • Wednesday to Friday evening service – £600
  • Saturday evening service – £600
  • Sunday lunch service – £800 (full lunch hours)
  • Sunday evening service – £500

Minimum spends also apply for a restaurant takeover, bar and lounge takeover, or whole premise private events, this is disclosed when enquiring.

Changes to pre-orders
Changes must be made no later than 48 hours to the booking. Changes may not always be possible also as this is subject to availability of the dish. Please let us know and we will do what we can.

Allergens or dietary requirements
Customers must let us know of any allergens or dietary requirements on the pre-order form, before the date of the booking.

Allergen Notice: Our kitchen handles nuts, gluten, dairy, and other major allergens. While we take extra precautions to prevent cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that any dish is 100% allergen-free.
Please speak to management to discuss your requirements before pre-ordering.

Occasion decoration
We allow general decoration, balloons, banners, table runners, flowers, candles, photos.
We do not allow confetti of any kind.

Cakes
We allow cakes to be brought in and eaten after a booked meal, we do not charge. We ask though that candles are normal only. No firework indoor candles are allowed.

Occasions of booking
Weddings are the only occasion that will incur an extra charge.
We do not hold licences for holding civil marriage or partnership ceremonies.
If we are not aware that the group booking made is for a wedding. Up to 50% charge can be added to your bill.
Weddings take a lot more time in service, speeches etc, that can disrupt the flow of service and require better planning. Letting us know prior to your booking would decrease this charge as a better understanding of time and needs can be discussed.

Service charges added to the final bill for wedding events is not optional.

 

Behavioural Policy

We have a zero tolerance to verbal, or inappropriate language used towards our staff or other guests. If persistence is met, law enforcement will be called upon. Those within the act will be banned for the foreseeable future.

Physical abuse or the nature thereof will not be tolerated. Law enforcement will be called upon immediately. Those within the act will be banned for the foreseeable future.

The Ufford Crown reserves the right to refuse admission to the venue should any visitor or guest who, in its reasonable opinion, is drunk, unruly, under the influence of drugs, or who is consuming alcohol under the legal age of consent.

 

Bar Service

The Ufford Crown operates the ‘Challenge 25’ scheme. Anyone who is over 18 but looks under 25 will be asked for acceptable ID when they want to buy or consume alcohol. The Ufford Crown reserves the right at its sole discretion to refuse service or reject any guest from the venue.

 

Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions

Monetary Gift Vouchers

  1. Monetary gift vouchers issued by The Ufford Crown may be used at The Ufford Crown venue only.
  2. Gift vouchers can be used as part or full payment for food and drinks. At any time of the year, and within conjunction of any other offer at the time of use.
  3. No change or refund will be given.
  4. The vouchers are £25, and quantities thereof.
  5. This voucher must not be re-sold and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  6. Lost, stolen or damaged vouchers can be replaced, only from the purchaser from details previously provided at original purchase.
  7. Once written and issued, The Ufford Crown Gift Vouchers are valid for 12 months.
  8. The Ufford Crown reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or to discontinue the voucher at any time.
  9. Out-of-date vouchers cannot be accepted without prior agreement by the General Manager.
